The county seat is Gallatin, named after Albert Gallatin who was the
Secretary of the Treasury under President Madison.

Sumner County Emergency Medical Services provides 24-hour Emergency and
Non-Emergency medical transportation to its citizens.
We currently
staff 10 Advanced Life Support ambulances to meet the emergency needs
of
Sumner County. To meet the our citizen's non emergency needs
we also staff 6 Basic Life Support units.
Every Advanced Life Support equipped
ambulance carries at least one licensed Paramedic.
Sumner EMS is also an "A" rated service by the state of Tennessee,
which is the highest rating available.
