Retirement
One of the most valuable benefits of your public service employment is
coverage under the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS).
Effective 7/1/2002, each pay period, on your behalf, Sumner County
makes a retirement contribution to TCRS, equal to 10.10% of your
compensation. This coverage grows in value each year you work as a
public employee. The plan is designed to provide benefits for you or
your family in the event of normal retirement, death or permanent
disability.
In most cases, the amount of the benefit will be affected
by three factors: your length of service, your five highest consecutive
years salary and the social security integration level in the year you
retire or die. There is a five year vesting schedule. Sumner County has
a non-contributory plan.

employment, employees earn 15 days per year.
In addition, this year the

earned at a rate of one day per month for a total of 12 days annually.
Some departments may accrue vacation and sick days differently. Please
contact your department supervisor for further information.
